How the contact form and the reference request form on this website use your information.
- Who holds your data. This website is run by Dr Ernest E. Onuiri, Babcock University. Messages and requests sent through its forms are kept in the private portal that supports his research, teaching and supervision.
- What the contact form collects. Your name, email address, organisation if you give one, the purpose you choose and your message.
- What the reference request form collects. Your name, email address, matriculation number, programme, how I know you (taught, supervised or both), the purpose of the letter, the recipient, the deadline, any details you add, and the CV and transcript you upload. Anything you add later on your status page is kept with the request.
- Why. To reply to your message, or to write the reference letter you asked for and keep you informed of its progress. The legal basis is your consent, given when you submit the form, under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
- Who can see it. Only Dr Onuiri. Nothing you send through these forms is published on this website. AI tools are not used on your data unless Babcock University's ICT department has cleared that use in writing.
- Email. You receive emails about your reference request: a confirmation link, your private status link, and a message when the status changes. The email service processes your address only to deliver them.
- Files and security. Uploaded files are kept in private storage and are never public. Every change to a request is logged with who made it and when.
- How long. Contact messages and reference requests are kept only as long as needed for the purpose above. Retention periods for reference requests and letters are being set with Babcock University and will be stated here.
- Your rights. You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, withdraw your consent, or object to how it is used, by writing to the email address on the contact page. You can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
